NYC’s Biggest Business, Tech & Entrepreneur Professional Networking Events – January 22, 2019 and March 26, 2019
The New York Entrepreneurs, Startup & Business Coalition is hosting a couple exciting events in 2019 to help local entrepreneurs, startups, and business professionals. The group’s NYC’s Biggest Business, Tech & Entrepreneur Professional Networking Events are ideal for tech startups, entrepreneurs, artists, freelancers, and game-changers from all fields. One upcoming event is taking place on January 22 from 6:30-9:30 pm at Royalton Rooftop (420 Park Avenue South) and another event on March 26 from 6:30-9:30 pm at Monarch Rooftop Lounge (71 West 35th Street).
These events are free to attend, but you must RSVP, and plan to arrive on time at 6:30 pm sharp. Come here to potentially find your next partner, startup coach, or core team members. The dress code is business casual, everyone receives a name tag, and make sure to bring plenty of business cards. Startup Weekend Diversity New York City – February 8-10, 2019
Another exciting startup event that’s coming up soon in New York City is called Startup Weekend Diversity. This event will take place February 8-10 at Infor, which is located at 641 6th Avenue. This is a place to prototype your big idea, find your ideal team, and get feedback from experienced entrepreneurs about your business. The event values bringing together people of different backgrounds and including women and minorities in the startup world. The event kicks off at 5:15 pm on February 8 is a full weekend-long experience. Your ticket includes access to a network of entrepreneurs, designers, and developers, unlimited internet and coffee, one-on-one time with mentors, seven full meals, and discounts from global partners.
Robin Albin, the founder of INSURGENTS, is the much-anticipated event speaker. Albin is a serial brand innovator who has helped to invent and reinvent over 50 brands, including Stetson Bourbon and Origins Natural Resources. Catherine Hernandez of Primary Venture and Jason Leder of Google are among the event judges, and the list of coaches and mentors includes Techstars’ Jenny Fielding and Dive in Digital’s Rachel Williamson. TechDay New York – May 2, 2019
Mark your calendar for May 2nd because that’s when TechDay New York is taking place at the Javits Center. This is the largest startup event in the U.S., with 300 startups and 20,000 individuals registered to attend. Come to this event if you’re an early-stage startup, growth-stage startup, or a late-stage startup to gain investments, hire talent, get media attention, gain users, and create partnerships.
TechDay gives attendees the opportunity to learn about the best technology available and provide direct access to it for startups. TechDay Talks are 15-minutes talks by leaders and founders, and there are live stage demos, fireside chats, and some of the most powerful accelerators in the world here too. Small Business Expo New York 2019 – June 5, 2019
The Small Business Expo is one of the biggest events in the entire country for entrepreneurs and business owners. Here you can attend workshops, network, and get leads to grow your company. The event has shows in 17 major U.S. cities, and the New York event is taking place on June 5 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. You can register to attend the event online for free and also plan to exhibit at this show. WE NYC Mentor, Legal, and Leadership Sessions in 2019
Another organization worth getting familiar with in New York is WE NYC, an initiative based out of the New York City Department of Small Business Services for women entrepreneurs. Fight through the gender gap and attend one of the WE NYC events to connect with other women entrepreneurs and learn from their resources and community involvement. The group offers legal clinics to help women entrepreneurs navigate the legal information they need to grow their businesses. It also hosts WE Connect events that connect local women through brainstorming sessions, small group discussions, and mentoring opportunities.
To kick off 2019, WE NYC is offering a leadership course that is a two-session workshop on January 22 and January 29 at the Made in NY Media Center by IFP in Brooklyn. There’s also a legal clinic on February 5 in Manhattan, and mentoring sessions to boost your inspiration and confidence on February 7, February 15, and February 28. These sessions are with Sophia Change at the Alley in Chelsea, Dr. Corrine Graham at the Brooklyn Public Library, and Victoria Flores of Lux Beauty Club.
